This project began with my desire to share about the great scientists of time with my daughter. As I researched for information, I found that there was a large number of books that were part of the public domain which contained information on these scientists. While I was putting the information together to use with my daughter I realized what a great resource this would be for others and that's how the Great Scientist Series began.

At this time I am working on compiling the information into 4 volumes that will follow the historical time period divisions as laid out in The Well Trained Mind by Jessie Wise & Susan Wise Bauer. Each volume includes a list of the scientists of that age, a timeline of the major scientific discoveries, timeline figures and a collection of articles about those scientists from the public domain. So far two of these titles are available…

My hope is to one day separate this information into 5 discipline differentiated volumes as well.

Currently these volumes are available as eBooks free of charge or as "at cost" books from my Lulu Store.

1. What ages are these books for?

The Great Scientist Series can be used with students from 1st to 8th grade. They can be used as read-alouds for your 1st to 4th grade student and as independent readers for your 5th to 8th grade student.

2. Why are you offering these books for free?

I have compiled most of the information from free sources and even though I have added my own work, I feel it's only right to offer the eBooks for free.
